The Comparison of Coronary Sinus Anatomy in Patients with Supraventricular Arrhythmia and in the Normal Population
نویسنده
چکیده
Objective: It has been observed that the cannulation of the coronary sinus (CS) is easier in patients with atrioventricular nodal reentry tachycardia (AVNRT). In this study, we aimed to test the validity of this observation Methods: We included 29 patients undergoing electrophysiological study (EPS) with the diagnosis of tachycardia and 22 patients undergoing coronary artery angiography (CAG) The patients were separated into three groups. First group consisted of 14 patients diagnosed as AVNRT by EPS, 15 patients diagnosed as supraventricular tachyarrythmias other than AVNRT (non-AVNRT) formed the second group and the thirth group consisted of 22 patients as the control group. Results: A total of 51 patients were enrolled (27 female and 24 male). Mean CS ostium diameter was similar in patients with AVNRT and in patients with non-AVNRT (10.8±2.1 mm vs 10.4 ±2.2 mm, p= 0.6). However, mean CS ostium diameter of the patients with AVNRT was significantly larger than those of the control group (10.8±2.2 mm vs 9.3 ±2.2 mm, p= 0.04). Conclusion: In conclusion, our study showed that mean CS diameters did not differ between the patients with AVNRT and the non-AVNRT. However mean CS ostium diameter in patients with AVNRT was larger than the control group.

متن کاملA nonfluoroscopic approach for electrophysiology and catheter ablation procedures using a three-dimensional navigation system.
BACKGROUND Three-dimensional (3D) electroanatomical navigation systems decrease the fluoroscopy time of electrophysiology and ablation procedures. The aim of this study was to assess the safety and efficacy of a complete nonfluoroscopic approach for electrophysiologic studies and right-sided catheter ablations for supraventricular tachycardia in patients with normal cardiac anatomy using a 3D, ...

Background and Objective: Acute myocardial infarction (MI) is caused due to coronary artery occlusion and divided into two forms of ST-elevation (STEMI) and non-ST-elevation (NSTEMI) myocardial infarction. This study aimed to determine the success rate of treatment with primary PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) versus thrombolysis in the establishment of perfusion and to evaluate the sho...
